2017 BIG 6 #5 | Primm

Riverside, CA –

The fifth round of the 2017 AMA BIG 6 Grand Prix championship turned into quite the dusty affair as high winds swept through  the Primm, NV desert. There was little moisture left on most of the course by the time the ninety minute pro race was scheduled to start, making visibility quite difficult at times. Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, Precision Concepts’ Justin Seeds got off to the best possible start, grabbing the hole shot through the first turn, but a loss of traction a corner later would relegate him to sixth place. Justin pushed back up to fourth, running there for most of the event while battling with the likes of Trevor Stewart and Eric Yorba. Seeds was closing the gap on Yorba for the final podium spot late in the race, but would just run out of time and was forced to settle for fourth place on the day.

“I started on the far outside of everyone,” said Seeds, post-race, “and actually came out with the hole shot, but that second corner was slick on the truck course and I dropped back almost to seventh. I just sent it around the outside of the next corner and came back out in fourth and I pretty much stayed there for the rest of the race. [Eric] Yorba got by me in the middle there, but I started to find my groove at the end and came into my own. I was able to catch Trevor [Stewart] and just needed one more lap to catch Yorba, but we’re moving on to the next round of WORCS. The championship is close in that series so I’m focussing really hard on that to try to close the gap.”

On another note, Justin’s teammate Robby Bell sat the weekend out as he continues to recover from a crash at the previous BIG 6 round. Robby’s hopeful to be close to one hundred percent by the next round of the WORCS series in Cedar City.
