2022 Vegas WORCS

2022 Vegas WORCS Report —

After a two-year absence from the schedule, the WORCS series was heading back to Vegas to race under the lights. A unique event in terms of the Grand Prix schedule, the race is held within the tight confines of the Orlean’s Arena. Inside the arena, numerous endurocross-style obstacles cover the track lanes. From the arena, the course utilizes some of the parking lot for a mix of dirt and asphalt sections, with a few obstacles sprinkled in. Because of shorter lap times, the race lengths are condensed. Amateur classes would race for twenty-five minutes, while the Pro main events would last forty-five minutes. Though it would be less than half the normal duration of the typical two-hour WORCS pro race, the accumulation of so many laps would still make mental and physical durability an important factor in the outcome of the race.

Tyler Lynn – 2nd place 450 Pro

For Saturday evening’s Pro motorcycle main event, the line of 450 racers butted up their front wheels to a log that spanned the width of the line for a dead-engine start. As the green flag waved, numerous open bike fired to life, including Tyler’s KX450X. Lynn rocketed down the start straight in third position. Through the first couple corners there was plenty of jostling inside the top-five. Tyler was able to maintain third place, slotting in behind Dante Oliveira and Giacomo Redondi, as things settled in through the first part of the opening lap. As the riders headed inside the arena for the first time, Lynn aggressively attacked the set of four logs covering the straightaway, which allowed him to overtake Redondi and assert control of second position.

Over the opening fifteen minutes, Lynn kept series leader Oliveira inside of ten second ahead, as the two had stretched out a lead over the pack of hungry pro’s behind. Tyler lost the tow behind Oliveira, when he slid out in an innocuous corner. Lynn was quick to remount, however, and got back into a solid grove as he maintained second place. Through thirty minutes of racing, Tyler was able to further pull away from the riders behind. Over the final few laps of the event, he looked strong and solid, crossing the line to take the best Open-Pro Grand Prix finish of his career, to date.

Robby Bell – 1st place Vet Pro

As the green flag lifted to start the Vet race, Robby was a little slow off the line. After entering the first corner in third, Bell was quick to duck inside of the two leaders and grab control of the lead. From there, the Kawasaki rider held a solid gap over Nick Stover and Beau Baron, who were stalking not too far behind. As the race progressed, Bell held consistent lap times to begin stretching further away and he held on to the finish to take his fifth straight Vet race win of the WORCS season.

Robby Bell, Team Manager

“That was an awesome ride for Tyler tonight. His KX450X fired up instantly off the start, which was critical to set the tone for the race. From there, he was aggressive to get up to second, and then held onto it with speed and consistency. He had one small tip-over early in the race, but he was able to gather himself quickly and earned every bit of that second place. So stoked for him and the whole team.”
