Race Report: 2015 WORCS Round 6 | Cedar City
The win gives Robby a healthy points lead with just three rounds to go, and a mathematical shot at wrapping up the title at the next round in Washington in early August. “I’m really happy to get back to winning ways in the WORCS series, since I felt I let one slip away at the last round. I rode like a bit of an idiot early on, throwing the bike away, but luckily I didn’t damage my bike too badly and was able to catch back up and take the lead. I’m looking forward to the challenge of Washington, anyone familiar with my career knows I haven’t had the best time in the trees, but I feel I’m in the best form of my life and want to prove to myself that I can ride well in the forests up north.”
The fifth place finish puts Justin in fifth in the series standings, but only a couple points out of second in the championship. “I felt like my race was solid, but I just couldn’t find a comfortable line around the whole course until it started to dry out a bit, and by the time that happened everyone was too far ahead of me. I know I should be running up with Gary and my teammate Robby, but unfortunately on race day that hasn’t happened lately. I’ll keep believing in myself and pushing to show everyone I can beat them. I want to thank Precision Concepts, John Burr Cycles, Monster Energy, Moose racing, Focus apparel, EKS Brand goggles, Shoei, Townsend Designs, my family, friends and all of the team sponsors for supporting me.”
