Best In The Desert championship
Round one | Parker 250
Parker, AZ
The Precision Concepts racing duo of Ricky Brabec and Robby Bell got their 2015 Best in the Desert title defense off to a fantastic start as they took the win a the series opener in Parker. Ricky started the race and took the early lead. “For the start of the first race of 2015 I felt a little nervous, but that’s pretty normal. We started side by side and I knew I had to get a good jump on the N2 team of [Axel] Pearson and [Nick] Burson. I was able to get the jump and lead all the way to midway pit, where I gave the bike to Robby.”
Robby took the bike a full loop back to midway and was able to stretch out Ricky’s lead over the N2 team even further. “I felt fantastic all day. The bike handled perfect for me and really helped me enjoy the terrain. It also didn’t hurt that rain started to fall and made for near perfect conditions. It made me feel like a kid again.”
Ricky’s second loop went smoothly as he continued to pull away from the rest of the field. “My second stint was awesome, I felt great the entire way. The bike was great as always, I don’t think there was a better handling bike out on the course today.” The N2 bike suffered from some mechanical issues and was forced to pull out of the race, so with over thirty minutes on the next team Robby was able to cruise to the finish. “I had so much fun that last fifty miles. The rain was still coming down a little bit, the dirt was ideal; really couldn’t ask for better conditions. I’m stoked to help Ricky get his first Parker 250 win and want to thank the team, all of the supporters and everyone who helped us in the pits. It was an awesome day.”
