Race Report: 2015 WORCS Round 2 | Primm
When the green flag flew, Robby’s bike was the quickest to start and he rocketed out to the early lead. “I almost didn’t know what kind of pace to set out front, so I was just hammering the track, riding a little squirrelly. Plus Eric Yorba was showing a lot of speed and pushing me really hard from second.” Eric’s challenge lasted a couple laps until he succumbed to some arm pump, and from there it was smooth sailing for Bell. “After the first couple laps I settled in to a good pace, managed my gap out front and really enjoyed the race. I saw Gary [Sutherlin] get in to second place and knew he’d mount a late-race charge, but I think he had some trouble in lapped traffic and I held a comfortable lead all the way to the finish.”
Justin has shown he has the speed to finish on the WORCS podium and this weekend at Primm he proved it to everyone, including himself. “My goal was to finish on the podium. I know I’ve had the speed, I just needed to believe in myself.” Justin’s third place finish didn’t come easy, however, as a multiple-kick start meant he’d have to work hard to come through the pack. “The start wasn’t what I wanted; I ended up having a two-kick start and was back around eighth or ninth early on.”
Justin made a few passes, getting in to the top five, but the leaders had stretched away, leaving quite a gap for him to close down to make it to the podium positions. Showing fitness, as well as speed, Justin made a late charge and was able to take the third position away from Justin Jones in the final lap and a half. “I felt so good about my performance. I knew I could do it [get on the podium] and that’s what I kept telling myself. It was definitely a hard-fought third, but so worth it!” The finish ties Justin with Jones for third place in the series standings and Seeds is looking to keep that momentum rolling. “I want to keep up the podium finishes. I believe I should be up there and I just want to show everyone that I have it.”
