The Ridgecrest racecourse was very fast, which made it tough to make up much ground, as all of riders were showing good speed. Justin had a great start to his race, moving into second place early on, while Robby was at the edge of the top five. In the early lap chaos, Justin got shuffled back to fourth place, just ahead of Robby, and the two battled for about half a lap before Robby was able to make the pass.
The two worked into third and fourth place, respectively, before Justin began experiencing some brake issues, which slowed his pace slightly. Justin did well to hold a good pace, but lost a couple positions and ended up finishing sixth on the day. Robby was able to push forward in to second place and caught up to the leader, Blyane Thompson, as the shite flag came out. It looked as though the two were going to have quite a battle to the finish, but unfortunately Thompson’s bike ran out of gas, handing Robby the lead, and he as able to take the victory.
